What is a Recognition Skills Centre?
A Recognition Skills Centre is a place where people can apply to have their current skills recognised without structured face-to-face learning. This is done through RPL (recognition of prior learning), RCC (recognition of current competencies) or MR (mutual recognition).
How does it work for you?
You will need to complete an application form, attend an induction by phone, email or in person. You are then assigned a case manager/assessor to assist you through the recognition process guiding you with the required evidence to meet the performance criteria of the unit of competency/qualification you are applying for. All case managers are certified assessors with formal qualifications.
What are the benefits of the recognition process?
Flexibility! We are often too busy to attend face-to-face structured workshops. You will liaise with your case manager/assessor around times and time frames that suit your busy lifestyle. Recognition is about providing evidence that you can do something. Evidence you have gathered through experience (work & life), other courses (in-house & external) and third party reports from supervisors or managers that can verify & support your claim of competency.
