COURSE DESCRIPTION
 
Introduction
This nationally recognised training program is designed for people wishing to work in the hospitality industry as a Barperson or Waitperson.
Learn the key skills required to work within this popular industry including bar operations and restaurant service. This course also includes a Liquor Administration Board (LAB) approved Certificate in Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG).
Gain hands on experience working within a Hospitality environment with the work experience included with the program.
Overview
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a range of activities and functions requiring basic operational knowledge and limited practical skills in a defined context.
Work would be undertaken in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops. Individuals may work with some autonomy or in a team but usually under close supervision.
Course Entry Requirements
  • Mature age entry applicable
  • Reading and writing - a learner will be able to read, comprehend and write a range of texts within a variety of contexts.
  • Oral communication - a learner will be able to use and respond to spoken language including some unfamiliar material within a variety of contexts.
  • Numeracy and mathematics - a learner will be able to recognise and use a variety of conventions and symbolism of formal mathematics.
